Bound in early twentieth-century full black morocco by Jarrold & Sons Ltd. of Norwich, elaborate gilt inner dentelles, marbled endpapers, a.e.g.; lii, 475, [1]pp., decorative title-page printed in red, black and gold within a decorative frame, the text throughout contained within black and red ruled borders, printed floriated initials and decorative floral borders, numerous black and white illustrations throughout after paintings by Fra Bartolomeo, Raphael, Poussin, Overbeck and others.

The front pastedown bears a large armorial book label executed in pen, ink, watercolour, and gold, inscribed in red ink at the lower margin, ‘Neville H. Noller St. Andrew’s Chambers, Castle St. Norwich’

'The historical subjects are carefully drawn from the originals, by George Scharf, Jun., under the superintendence of Lewis Gruner. The Vignettes, Initials, Borders, and Ornaments, are designed by Owen Jones, Architect.' This copy extensively extra-illuminated in gold, and watercolour by Neville H. Noller, presumably the Bedfordshire watercolour artist, born in 1882. Illumination of the twelve calendar pages is complete, the majority of the initials similarly so, as well as many of the floral borders - all executed in a more than competent manner.
