Publisher’s crimson faux morocco, gilt-lettered spine, dust jacket; b/w portrait frontispiece, title-page printed in red and black, 146, [2]pp., including 36 facsimile plates, of which 12 are folding, of the original anatomical and skeletal engravings after Stubbs’ drawings, 24 reproductions of equine anatomical drawings by Stubbs then recently discovered and published for the first time; ex-libris, Southwark Public Library with its neat ink stamp to the verso of the title-page, no other marks, two very small closed tears to the lower extremities of the front panel of the dust jacket, light vertical creases to the outer margins of some of the folding plates, otherwise a very good copy.
