Folio (373 x 244 mm). Original linen-backed boards, paper label to the spine, uncut, corners slightly bumped and worn as usual, else a very good, clean copy, preserved in a modern cloth-backed solander box.

Provenance: Janet Leeper was an author on English ballet and wrote Edward Gordon Craig: Designs for the Theatre, published as a King Penguin in 1948.

Number 207 0f 300 copies on Malliol hand-made paper, from an edition, limited to 322. The type designed by Edward Johnston after the Mainz Psalter of 1457. The title cut by Eric Gill, printed in red and black, 74 wood-engraved illustrations designed and cut by Edward Gordon Craig. ‘Notes on The Tragedie of Hamlet...’ by J. Dover Wilson in the cloth-backed original wrappers preserved in a pocket at the rear of the volume.

Janet Leeper’s copy signed by Edward Gordon Craig in 1948 to the f.f.e.p. With an additional signed print on Japon of Hamlet Descending Stairs Reading, initialed ‘EGC’, dated 1930 and with a note “Only 13 copies printed, Copy 6” in pencil at foot, loosely inserted loose at front of volume.
